Toronto guard TJ Ford was strechered off the court after a frightening fall on Tuesday in the fourth quarter of the Raptors' National Basketball Association victory over Atlanta.Ford was immobilized by medical personnel and taken to the dressing room after a flagrant foul by Hawks forward Al Horford with 1:32 left in the final period.
Horford was assessed a flagrant-2 foul and was ejected.
Horford's foul happened after Ford had stolen the ball from Joe Johnson and moved down the court for a layup.
Horford intercepted Ford and struck him with a forearm to his forehead that snapped Ford's head back and dropped him to the floor.
"I just tried to go and block the shot," Horford said. "When he went up, I went up to try to block it. He made a good move and it kind of fooled me. I really thought he was going to lay it up on one side and it he went up on the other side."
Ford landed on his left arm and laid motionless on the court while officials dealt with Horford.
"It was frightening to see TJ go down," Bosh said. "I had a pretty good view, and it was one of those plays where he got hit hard and he hit his head on the way down. We just hope he's OK."
