the club has signed restricted free agent defencemen Brendan Bell and Jay Harrison to one year contracts. They've also signed defenceman Carlo Colaiacovo and forward Kris Newbury have accepted the club’s qualifying offer for the 2006-07 season.

Good news. Harrison is an exciting young kid, Harrison too, and Colaaiacovo was strong - until he got that concussion and was GONE.
Still. A summer to recuperate, and always happy they figure out how to hang onto the promising ones and not give them up for dry old guys.

I suppose it means, they each have something worth hanging onto. they don't suck. All of them got two way deals, of course, so that if they do start to - you know, suck, we can send them down to the Marlies.
We also signed wellwood which is a big sigh of relief because he is one of the fastest going at the net we have. He's the one who looks like my paperboy, if i had a paperboy. His is one way, $875,000 a year for two years. It's nice to have them grow within the confines of the leafs organization, rather than sell them off and watch them get better somewhere else.
Stajan, another bright light, is still left to sign, but it is considered a done deal, nonetheless.

me sarcastic?...come on blueandwhite girl I am not the type...I would never...or hardly ever...say anything sarcastic...I was just pondering the word "exciting" when it comes to these players and the level of excitment each of them can cause...are we talking Sundin excitment here?
