Re: Sundin talks and hey speaking of captains - leafs are honouring two other captains, Clark and Gilmour. nhl.com says they are "perhaps the two most beloved Toronto Maple Leafs over the course of the past 25 years" - and that is true. Clark's ceremoney will be held prior to the Maple Leafs’ November 22 game against the Chicago Blackhawks, and Gilmour will be recognized January 31 when the Pittsburgh Penguins come into town. The respective #17 and #93 banners for Clark and Gilmour will join those of Syl Apps, Ted Kennedy, Walter ‘Turk’ Broda, Johnny Bower, Tim Horton, George Armstrong, Charlie Conacher, Frank Mahovlich, Darryl Sittler, Clarence ‘Hap’ Day, Leonard ‘Red’ Kelly and Borje Salming. Remember Toronto doesn't retire numbers until they die - and maybe not even then. ![]()

Re: Sundin talks Do you remember the day when these guys would quietly deliberate their futures, make an official announcement and stick with it? I do. Barely. But retirement drama is quickly becoming the most annoying thing in all of sports. Like you said, it smacks of diva.

Re: Sundin talks Vancouver GM Mike Gillis believes the race is between the Canucks and Toronto. If you can call it a race - I guess it's more like a sitting outside and waiting for the doors to open. then waiting to see if you're allowed in. A quote from the GM on why he thinks Vancouver has an advantage: "I think we offer a unique opportunity and one that presents some different options." Gee how quaint, calling it a "unique opportunity", eh? Just say it: Tons Of Cash.

Re: Sundin talks well thats no good. I hoped montreal would land him. That might've secured the conference final. Oh well, some of the clerks in Vancouver have offered him stuff. A deli offered him a year supply of swedish meatballs and a Volvo dealership offered him a car, no joke. But I think he could afford those things on his own. Good tactics though.

Re: Sundin talks so now they are saying there are 6 teams in the running for Mats. his agent has now said tomorrow's soft deadline for Mats to make the announcement will be regarding whether he will pay at all, not who he will be playing with. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
