Toronto signs McCabe

...for between 5.5 and 6 million a year over the next five years. Now Leafs have 16.1 million tied up in Sundin, Thomas kaberle and McCabe.
Talk now is if we will try to get Gerber at season's end. Also, Kaberle's brother Frantisek (pillaging the Hurricanes). Apparently, neither brother has ever publicly claimed to want to play on the same team.
Those Czechs and their out of control emotions.
We also gave lindros a $750,000 one year contract. What is up with that?

Hey I still believe in Lindros...I think he has a few more years in him...its not like he is Eddie Belfour now. McCabe had a career year scoring (68 points, 6 game winnig goals), but 6 mil is a bit much for a team not in the playoffs...don't you think?

Yes. As a wise sage - my disgruntled husband reading the morning newspaper - once said,
Watch now, he'll suck - if we'd let him go, he'd be amazing next season.

So says Confucious.
But then, there would have been critics if we let him go, along the lines of,
He was one of the only decent players you had.
Re lindros: I would LOVE for him to excel. I like him alot, but he is battle worn, injury ridden, and a very unlucky person.

Re: Toronto signs McCabe

Correct me if I'm wrong, but $750k doesn't seem like too bad of a gamble on a guy who could theoretically flip the switch and be great. Sounds sort of like a nice, calculated risk to me. Maybe it'll pay off?

Hey, maybe you can work your husband in as a quote of the day bit. Get him to say something note worthy and then quote him...he can be the "wise hockey sage."

And you got to think positive when it comes to Lindros...he is signed now...time to show him the love...

Re: Toronto signs McCabe

I show him the love and i do think the pay cheque is a deal, but there are too many ifs. Just worried, not criticizing.
and most of the wise old sage's pieces of wisdom sound like the one i already quoted. typical of a beleagured toronto fan.
