Re: Sundin wants to play, says agent Congrats on the 5000th post, blue... and it's good news for the Leafs to boot! I know the agent isn't official confirmation, but it's about as close as you can get to the real thing. He'll be back.

Re: Sundin wants to play, says agent Wilson is also spouting the same stuff that Maurice did last year: We are here to win the Cup. And I'm with the opinion of the many writers in TO - I like his confidence and I like him, but you're going to have to do more than talk about it. We need new players, a change in those wearing the uniform or else we will just flail and lose again. The most important thing I can think that needs changing: Back up goalie for Toskala who stops goals. Toskala is not a machine (see "Brodeur"). He needs a competent back up. Spend the money please, and I mean not like the $$ they spent on raycroft - find a decent back up. It will hugely affect toskala's play and he could be the best goalie of the season next year. Beyond that, we need offence and defence. haha. We need improvements in both. I'm all for hanging on to Sundin but where are his back-ups? Where are the lines that will work the power play and the (God help us) penalty kill. I guess what got me thinking is, i just read that Crawford was fired again and he stinks and really - Maurice is a great coach. he just could do so much with this beleagured Leafs team. I really like Dominick Moore. Some of those new kids had flashes of genius. We miss Gill.

Re: Sundin wants to play, says agent I know 1009 is a typo, but there's an amusing irony to that. With Fletcher as GM it's like the Leafs are traveling backwards through time. Too bad they didn't stop in the 60's. Or to the 40's.
