Ottawa eats The Leafs and spits them out

I can't even talk about it but it's my job, isn't it?
8-2 final score for the Sens. Hey that's showing them who's boss, Toronto- lay down and give up.
Ottawa just needs one point in their next game vs. Boston.
We could have stopped Boston. We lost to them.
We could have stopped Buffalo.
We lost to them.
We could have stopped Ottawa.
We lost.
Not that we should be giddy over stopping teams from getting into the palyoffs but let's show some - backbone.
This season has made me older, angrier, frustrated, fed up, sad, disappointed.

Re: Ottawa eats The Leafs and spits them out

in a way, you did stop ottawa. There playoff chances anyway. Referencing Marc Bell's hit on Alfredson and whatever caused Fisher's injury. I'm thanking you in advance if a first round matchup should occur between Montreal and Ottawa. Long season for the Leafs, I know but on the bright side, a new GM in the off season and a couple of good young players (can't spell their names but they each scored vs. the habs last game) and you might have a new, better look in Hogtown.

Re: Ottawa eats The Leafs and spits them out

Thanks for the pat on the back.
I am excited about next year, for those reasons.
If only they could have showed Ottawa what they are made of, rather than curled up and said good night.

I tired to watch that game last night, but hating the Sens made it hard to watch...

Re: Ottawa eats The Leafs and spits them out

I couldn't get it - it was on leafstv and that means paying more for cable so I just went over periodically to the sports channel for updates, and gave up at 5-1.
I guess I was saved the pain of watching them die.

btw, I just checked out the alfredsson hit from Bell - clocked.
I get what you mean now. He's out for weeks, undisclosed upper body injury, and they are saying knee too. he did skate off the ice, though.
Apparently, Fisher is out for weeks with a knee injury - I read Steen and him collided but now they are saying that was Mark bell as well.
I'm watching the Bruins vs. Sens game right now, tied in the 1st at 0-0.

Re: Ottawa eats The Leafs and spits them out

okay they aren't - boston is winning but carolina lost to Florida so the news is, Philly, Boston (if they win tonight) and Ottawa are ALL in the playoffs, and Washington and Carolina will battle it out for the final open (3rd) spot.
sucks.

Thanks, GDK.
Maybe if I golfed, it wouldn't be so depressing to be out of the post.
hey Hitchcock getting the nod to coach the Canadian team at the IIHF World Hockey championship - that's definitely a comment on how well he coached the Blue jackets this season.

Yeah good for Hitchcock...maybe part of the reason columbus can be optimistic is because the franchise is so young that it does not have a storied past to compare too...the Leafs have won the Cup and then you get to look back and say when, when can we be like that again...We get to look forward and say, "oh well, that was new...we must be going in the right direction."

Re: Ottawa eats The Leafs and spits them out

I would be totally revved by this season, fedorov or no fedorov.
I'd love to have nash on our team and you've got a hot young goalie.
I guess in a way we are sort of the same - Toskala is doing so well. We have no Nash and Sundin is contemplating retirement but there are some young guys doing really well.
Summer just seems so - oh so long.
On the note of hitchcock - it's nice to know you have a coach who is staying. maurice is on the bubble right now, depending on who our new GM will be come fall.

I would too, if my schedule was not so darn exhasting that I could follow a lot better...as it is, I am not getting to enjoy it much and I even have that NHL channel...every once in a while they are even on...which is cool.
