Leafs done like toast

it's over. I could go into specifics - how Sundin and Antropov came back but it mattered little, how Kessel and Murray seem to be the Bruins, how there was a score and the Bruins had goals than the Leafs - but why? It's over. Leafs had to win every game and they couldn't do it.
wonder what it's going to be like watching these last few games, knowing it's been 41 years since the Cup came here and 3 years since we made it to the playoffs.
I can already talk about what the team will look like next year.
Headline in the star today was - Going.....going....Golf.
And there's still too much snow for golf.

Re: Leafs done like toast

Do you feel that the Leafs are close to making that step to get back to the playoffs??

What is thier biggest need?

How about the coach?? Love em or hate em??

As an outsider, I don't see them that far away, but I also am a person that wouldn't be happy with that. I want to win the Cup! Making the playoffs is just a tease!

I don't see the Flyers all that much closer to that goal than the Leafs.

I look forward to our teams match ups next year! Flyers/Leafs games are always a match up I look forward too, if for nothing else to see Sundin play!

He is one of my favorite non-Flyer players!

Re: Leafs done like toast

And I like you even more.
I think they showed they can be a very good team. There is finally very talented youth (we didn't sell them for an old dude this season) on the team, and it is exciting.
i think maurice should stay - after all my calls for his firing earlier this season - because I think the players like him and i think he showed what he can get them to do.
We'll no doubt have a new GM by next season - Fletcher is just an interim.
I think we finally have a star goalie in Toskala and I am really happy about that.
I wonder where Sundin will be next year - will he retire? i think it is very possible.
But I am excited about next season.
Now, I have to get into the playoffs when my team isn't in it. Get myself worked up over someone besides the blue and white - it'll happen.
I lean toward Canadian teams (except the Sens).
i love the playoffs.

Re: Leafs done like toast

They gave us a good run at the end there though. We had a fun Feb/March after a lousy Oct-Jan.

I kept telling myself they weren't going to make it though, so I wouldn't be too disappointed when it happened. But secretly I kept thinking "maybe...".

Ah well. Go Montreal. Go whoever is playing against the Sens.
