Sundin named NHL player of the week

He's got 8 points in four games, and yesterday he was recognized as the NHL's first star for the week - he is the first Leaf to garner the award since goalie Andrew Raycroft did on Feb. 5, 2007.
that's hardly auspicious.
but Sundin has a much better proven track record.
he is on an amazing roll right now, and as the Star says in the headlines today, he is the glue that holds the Leafs together.
Devils tonight, martin should be back and so should Ponikarovsky.

Kinda old glue at that...he can't play that role forever.

Re: Sundin named NHL player of the week

It's a big thing, to appreciate now and not think about next week.
And speaking of yesterday -
The leafs stunk last night, so how do i feel now? We're done.
4-1 final score and we shot the crap out of Brodeur but could only get one past him (Sundin assisted on the Pony goal).
42 shots on Brodeur.
25 shots on Toskala.
Sundin took 3 penalties last night, and the final one was was when we were on a one man advantage an we'd pulled Toskala so i wasn't too happy with him last night.

So from player of the week to partial goat that quick, eh?

And 41 on shots on Brodeur with only one goal to show for it. Well, he always has been a tough nut to crack.

Re: Sundin named NHL player of the week

Yeah that sounds rotten of me - he is consistent, but lst night was a frustrated Sundin - he actually swing his stick around in the penalty box on what he thought was a stupid call. He never loses his cool - so when he does, you know he's frustrated.
he carries this team, with a huge help from toskala, and it can't be easy. although knowing him, he blames only himself.
