see I wanted to say, we beat the Caps so we are in 11th - but we are still in 12th place with the same points as washington (68th) but one more game played than them.
We beat the Caps last night 3-2 and what a game it was. Sundin and Toskala were great, and our defence was pretty good. Sundin posted 3 points last night and Toskala is one of the hottest goalies in the league.
of course, we were the team that ended ovechkin's 8 game non scoring streak. but we beat them - nail biter, i was literally on the edge of my seat by the end because they pulled Kolzig and I thought for sure they were going to score-actually even before they pulled kolzig, i thought they were going to score on us, it was all Washington in the 3rd.
But no, the mighty vesa played like a star. So did the team - special teams are much better than they've been all year.
This is getting kind of exciting.

The thing is, and it's not such a bad thing, but we are actually getting hopeful again. We could actually have a chance of making the playoffs.
You can feel the collective intake of breath, and the sitting up in their seats of fans who thought they were down and out. But then i think - no don't get your hopes up - it will hurt!
I was so excited at the end of this game vs. wash, and i realize, because no matter what i say to myself, I still start to think, Maybe it's possible....

Really there is a slight chance, but no dice. The leafs can be better next year or more years to come!
