Leafs 1 Buffalo 5

what smells? oh that's right, the leafs- the smell of loss. mind you, they are no longer in the basement - look to TB for regaining that spot.
Campbell, vanek, Kotalik X 2, Roy.
Kubina scored for the leafs. lacklustre.
Toronto got off 35 shots, buff only 22. yet - 5 vs. 1 for Buff? not Toskala's best game, or our defence or our offense, for that matter - ah, get rid of em all!
Boyd Devereaux is out for 4-6 weeks with an injured medial collateral ligament in his right knee - happened during that clumsy win over Columbus.

That sucks about Devereaux. He's been my favourite Leaf this season.

Aim for the bottom I say. I was getting worried there that they might make a run for 9th place again.

Wow, either seriously bad goal tending or they can't by a break on their shots...

Clumsy win?...that hurts...

yeh no worries about that. it is a groan about devereaux - he was the fast little rat nipping at their feet, plus he was on the most potent line of late with kilger and moore.
and GKD - i think I'm past hurting. I'm just numb.

Re: Leafs 1 Buffalo 5

I think so, too. It is the team letting him down.

less than adequate - you know, as a person i really admire him. he is such a decent, nice person - but he can't get the goals, just like you predicted, I have to admit - last year was a blip. he races to the net alot but he too often forecasts where the puck is going to go and the goalie gets it.

You see it with so many athletes. They leave a perfect situation for a little extra money and live to regret it.

And it's funny you say he's such a decent nice person. It's pretty common knowledge that his teammates didn't like him. Maybe he learned from his experience here.

Re: Leafs 1 Buffalo 5

yeah, weird, eh? he comes across, here in Toronto, as quiet and deferring to mats as captain/king. Maybe getting cancer, dealing with that, not getting the points he got last year, being on a failing team and not being able to help out - maybe it all humbled him. whenever he speaks to the media, he is respectful and honest about his inability to score and humble.
I wish for him he could score, as much as i wish it for the leafs - but I don't think he's long for toronto.
