easy win over Blue Jackets

3-1, and some pretty goals, even the one by Zherdev. I loved kilger's goal, though. he gets the pass, spins around and rifles it at leclaire. I swear, he put a hole in the Columbus goalie. Kilger is our hardest shot.
It was a fun game. We got 3 penalties in a row in the second period which columbus could not capitalize on. Lots of chances for them, just no back of the net. i enjoyed this game, partly because i got to see Columbus play. This team is stacked, so why are they so bad? Foote, Modin, Zherdev, Mister Nash, Fedorov, leclaire in goal, even peca. Kept saying, oh hey he's on this team.
It was a fun atmosphere. We honestly are out of the running and any trades we make at deadline will be building ones (prospects) so this game was won with just pure love of the game.

They are not "so bad"...just not consistent at all...they will win one and lose one...win one...lose one...

Re: easy win over Blue Jackets

you know I didn't mean anything nasty by that, right? I just mean, I thought with a roster like that, they'd be competitive - and I don't mean just last night, i mean in general. It's amazing the guys they've amassed down there.
Watching it with my husband, he said after leclaire started to skate off and removed his facemask,
I think it's Leclaire's bedtime.
he looks like such a kid.

Yeah, I really thought they would have it together this season.

Did you tell him that we nicknamed Zherdev "The Paper Boy" after you said he looked like your paper boy?

Look at January they were 7-7 I believe...

I mean I know you are living in the moment and February doesn't look good...but come on they are 27-26-9...if that is not a team that wins one to lose one, I don't know what is.

-yeah --although he's looking like a man now. give the boys time and when they hit twenty, the beard grows in and they look like grownups.

Re: easy win over Blue Jackets

hey I forgot to mention, leafs were dropping like flies last night. it wasn't a particularly violent game, just blocked shots, or flying pucks anyway, but Tucker, Kubina and devereaux all limped off.
Kubina was injured I'd say three times. The tough dude from the Czech republic is made of strong stuff. But it got him in the end - he played only two minutes in the 3rd.
plus Stajan looked like he got the bad end of a bar fight, after a blue jacket swung his stick up into Stajan's pretty face.
Nasty. I could only watch it once.
medical staff will assess their injuries today.

Ah, see, I knew you'd come around...he is shaping up to be a good player...but I wanted to keep the paper boy nickname, cause then I could say, "The Paper Boy delivers, again"...after he scores a goal...

But you seem to forget that the "dash 9" at the end are losses. So technically they are 27-35 8 games under .500 not so very much win one lose one but I know what you're getting at but what I was saying is lately they are getting consistent at losing (only 2 wins in last 10)

hey it was a slapshot from McCabe that sent Tucker out limping.
I missed that in the first period.
Given time, McCabe could take more than one Leaf out of contention.
