Cool Re: help...

What can I do? Look at the Isles roster and propose a deal. We need goal scorers. Everybody is available except DP.

Re: help...

Pundit, how kind - we must be in bad shape. You're pitying me.
And I'll take it.

Now they are talking bringing up Pogge because Toskala really hasn't - it turns out - recovered from his groin injury.
Clemmensen's been sent back to the Marlies already. Raycroft must be getting drunk somewhere.
this from the Toronto Star:
Pogge almost was requested to make the start last Saturday against Philadelphia, but instead the Leaf management team had second thoughts and Andrew Raycroft started against the Flyers and dropped a 3-2 decision...
Toskala was expecting to have the night off, but played after former starter Andrew Raycroft surrendered four goals on 11 shots in the first period against the Kings. It's believed Toskala may have re-injured himself in the loss to L.A., which could pave the way for Pogge to make his NHL debut Saturday night against the Sharks in San Jose.

It just gets darker - not that Pogge might not save the day - highly possible, very talented kid.
But the situation? Bleak.

Ohhhhhh B&W ... you poor thing. I know of your pain. While I'm not a big hockey fan I've been a Red Sox fan all my life so I do understand the pain of loss ... even to the worst. My Celtics just lost the other night. We move on and try to hide the scars. Can I send you some flowers ???

Re: help...

This site rocks. Where else could i find sympathy and flowers?

I've decided, my team needs to hit rock bottom - that's the only way things will change. When they win every now and then, the front office and the fans start to feel elation again - if they suck until they can suck no more, people will be fired and trades that make a difference will happen.
Silver lining - this tough time will not last forever.
Thanks for the kind thoughts.

I'm not pitying you. I'm trying to help us both. Look over the Islanders Roster and make me an offer.

Our first round draft pick is available, too.

Re: help...

To quote the great H. Simpson, the Leafs are "the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked".

I'm hoping for dead last as well B&W. With any luck next year we'll see Bowman as GM, Gilmour (or Roy, just to fantasize a little) as coach, and Sundin and a high first-round pick on the bench - or between the pipes. Maybe they should be drafting a decent goalie (and NOT trading him away for essentially NOTHING).

Re: help...

Yeah the worst thing about ANOTHER loss - or maybe it's just insult to injury -was in San jose last night (where we sucked again, 3-2 loss in the 3rd period again due to penalties and bad plays) they don't have enough room on the bench for the extra goalie so poor Mr. raycroft sat by himself on the other side of the rink in the tunnel where the zambonis enter.
where does the extra Shark goalie sit? is it just visitors who suffer humiliation?
Heads will fly today - do heads fly?
Okay Pundit. Give me Comrie, fedotenko and Guerin and I'll give you heartburn, Maurice and a slice of 'za.
