I was very happy to see him hoist the Cup!
I had no idea Brind'amour was a Flyer.
And you really got close to lindros, eh? even with all his probs with Clarke, and his nosey parents? We didn't have time to like him up here, except for the fact that he's canadian and he's played for team canada.

I don't know. I mean they played their hearts out for the team, and perhaps management never did the right thing? Is it their fault? Do they really need to go down with the team???

I am torn on the subject.
It should always be about the team. I know, management will cut them free when the players stop producing so why shouldn't players have their own minds to make up when they can go elsewhere? - it stinks, to me.
Sittler out of blue and white? never. Did he ever say Wah wah i never got a cup?
Never.

Re: Is Sundin going?

I think so.
We could argue guys like sakic and Yzerman - but would they have stayed if they hadn't played for such great teams?
Who knows? (probably not) - I don't much like guys like Drury and briere - they come close to winning in Buffalo and then they don't so they split the next season for the big $$ - zero loyalty. That's why someone like Sundin, who says he wants to stay here no matter what - amazes me. You have to want him to stay, because he's a great hockey player and because he's loyal.

I wouldn;t say close to him, since I don't know him as a person. But, he was touted as the next big thing, and he played like it, until his concussion issues started. He also needed to cut the apron strings to MOm and Dad, but that was the teams issue, not mine. He could do it all for about 6 years. Fight, score, check, pass, and to me, never acted like a prima donna. At least not in his time on the ice. I have great memeories of him as a player.

Brind'amour is really missed here! Here was always a fan favorite, and most would have rather had him the Lindros, given the choice. He is the kind of gritty player we love so much.

Re: Is Sundin going?

I'm with Blue and White. I'd trade McCabe, Kubina, and the rest of the D except Kaberle and Gill. Definitely get rid of Raycroft (bump Pogge or Clemenson up from the minors to replace him). Sell Antropov while he still looks good, cuz it can't last. Toss in Blake. Sundin is the only guy on the team who's playing well. Trading him away is just the kind of insanity I except from the Leaf's front office.

I hope they don't, but I won't be surprised if they do.

Re: Is Sundin going?

He's too good a player and Team leader to stay with such a loser organization as MLSE and Leafs front office.
Let him go! He's earned it. Rebuild by getting rid of Maurice, Ferguson and Jason "onemanband" Blake.
