| NYI 4, TO 3 in OT It was a sluggish, fat game. Raycroft had his moments, which thankfully saved us the game, but both teams were skating on turkey.
Most dramatic moment of the night came when it was annoucned that DiPietro wasn't playing, and Dubielewicz was in. A bad skate sideways in warmup forced Dipietro to sit it out.
Toskala was also out due to "groin tightness" but he is expected back.
I liked this moment:
Blake was given a brief video tribute just before the opening faceoff and was greeted with mostly cheers from the fans who appreciated his five-plus seasons with the Islanders. The gritty forward left as a free agent in the summer after scoring a career-best 40 goals.
That's classy of the Islanders.
Steen evened it up in the 3rd so he totaled two goals last night, but Comrie won the game 4 minutes and 50 second (damn!) into OT. |
