bye bye tampa bay, and now there's a hole...

Okay admittedly, the hole started with the leafs leaving. Last night, while I watched the habs LOSE I checked out the guide for fututre hockey watching and saw the If Necessary game tonight, Ott vs TB which of course is very UN necessary.
Bummer. A hole in my tv hockey, suddenly. I've had so much of it, i might just go into withdrawal.
I was thinking about the unexpected heros of the first round.
*Theodore. Who would have thought? they are even comparing him to this other really spectacular goalie named ROY - let's not jump the gun here, just because both are French Canadian and bothe went from the habs to the Avs. But yeah, he's the star of the team that beat the Stars. he stopped 50 shots yesterday alone.
*Buffalo's Connolly. 7 points total and he is all over the Flyers. And just before the game started last night, he was injured by a shot from a fellow player in warmup, smack in the nose. That's tough.
*Wade redden. I know- he has come out and said publicly that if he can't come to an agreement with the team this summer and becomes an unrestricted free agent, he will not sign with the Leafs because he couldn't do that to his teammates or his fans. Sure i could take that as a slight, or maybe he's just a guy who has loyalties. He's one of the top three Sens, -but what makes him inspirational beyond his play is, his mother died during this series. he left, missed a game, went to his family, came back. his dad and brother were at the game on Saturday. He's focussed on the game as a way to get through - that's something.
*Cam Ward, the unexpected hero for the hurricanes. Who is this guy? and gerber who? Ward's stopping the Habs from getting all those goals they were racking up during the first two games. I'm not happy about this, but he's something to watch.
