| Leafs last in Toronto's race for championship The sports page spread this morning in the Toronto Star gives the odds on:
Which team in Toronto has the best chance of bringing the next championship home?
Odds are based on knowledge of writers from the Star's sports department.
Toronto Argonauts, our Canadian Football league team, beats all with 3-5 odds.
Toronto Raptors come in second, with 5-1 chances.
Toronto FC, our major league soccer team, have 10-1 odds of being the next local team to bring home a championship.
Has the panic begun to rise in me yet? Yeah.
Toronto Blue Jays, if you can imagine, who have all but squandered any opportunity they had, come next with 12-1 odds.
And yes, the lowly Toronto Maple Leafs come last, with a 41-1 chance of bringing home the Stanley Cup.
Now I'm not saying that I realistically thought it might be so, but I am a fan(atic) and I do BELIEVE.
Notes of The Leafs bad mistakes? we're still paying Domi; there is no depth to the Little Leafs; Mats is most useful to us in a future trade; the only Cup ring wearer in the room is Kubina; and, we love them even when they stink up the city - this apparently means, as we have mentioned in previous posts, many old guys come here to retire well past their prime.
I'm depressed and it isn't even September. |
