Last night's star: matt Stajan. Two goals (three if you count his waved off goal), including the over time winner.
Not such a great played game as previous, sloppy but as they say, we'll take it. Some ugly giveaways. Stajan's winner was even a Oh hey that just went in! - the goal Snow wanted back.
Still, I woke up and saw the paper and felt down. Atlanta is still there. They keep winning, and their final games are against such easy targets as Boston and Washington. We play Ottawa, Pittsburgh, Buffalo (in Buffalo, which is always tough for us). What if it turns out that it won't be Tampa Bay that keeps us out, it'll be Atlanta, the team we've successfully driven over all season?
Crap.
Tampa has to play Carolina a couple of times. That's tough.
I'm proud of the Leafs. Sundin is at 72 points (he was off right away at beginning of season with an eye injury, which held him back). Bonus last night: Tucker scored the first goal. Take that, NYI.
So I'll be there in TO for the Ottawa game, beside my Sens-loving-fatherinlaw. You'll hear me yell.

Yes...well...I haven't posted that yet...ssssh...hey a win is a win...the Blues are 1-11-3 in the last 15...soooo...but we won by 3 goals...which is good...If I was coordinated enough I would do a victory dance...but it all comes out like Travolta in Saturday Night Fever...so I will pass...

Shouldn't the Leafs have had an easier time with a team dressing 8 rookies and a 1000 year old goaltender?

yeah they should have - sloppy play - guess they're a little exhausted by WINNING all the time.
You have to see that tucker does not always play like that - sometimes he's just there to score goals.

Headlines: Rabid fan takes out Tucker

Story: In a meaningless late season game today, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost Darcy Tucker to a brutal ACL injury, when a rabid Islander fan crawled over the glass, leaped onto the ice and submarined the startled Tucker.

The fan, known simply as "The Pundit" and wearing a GoTeamsGo t-shirt was heard to exclaim, "That was for Peca you thug!"

As police escorted the assailant he was also heard to ask, "Has Bond's gone to trial yet? Has he? Has he? cause he is next on the list."

Blue: Besides every NY Ranger? Good question: Off the top of my head I can't really say I do. Since they've taken away a lot of the dirty play, there's not that many guys to hate anymore. How about you?

I have a thing against arrogant players, and players who seem like bad losers. Don't like Chelios. he said, after the last olympic loss to Canada in 2002, that we take the game way too seriously. Never liked Roenick. Hull for a pile of reasons.
I don't much like Alfredsson because he said once the Sens would win the cup that year, and then we beat them in the first round, a four game sweep.
Guys like that.
I don't mind the hard hitters. Oh but I never liked Stevens. he's the dirtiest player I've ever seen play, after that hit on Lindros.
