Shootout takes out Leafs

OUCH!...Leafs lose in a shootout...(for anyone wondering what I am doing in the Leaf Forum, Columbus had a day off once again)... The Bruins (once my favorite team) took out the Leafs 3-2...The only shootout goal game out of Brad Boyes...Boyes is a rookie center with 64 points this year...might be one to watch.

Re: Shootout takes out Leafs

Definitely one to watch - Boyes is an old leaf - i tell you, playing the Bruins is like high school reunion time (Boyes, Fitzgerald, Leetch, Czernawski, Green...).

Disappointing game but most exciting goal was Sundin's with second to go in 3rd that tied it up. I was ecstatic. we get a point. Atlanta lost but unfortunately they were playing Tampa bay.
Shootouts suck - i would so much rather watch overtime - so much more satisfying.
Thomas is on fire when we play him. A wall. Aubin again was great, but sports writers are wondering if the Leafs are now depending too much on him because of lackluster play in early periods of past two games. I say, Thank God we have a goalie we can rely on right now. But I also say, Score some goals. mcCabe is as dry as the Gobi.
Scare when Tucker got Kilger's stick in his eye and skated off quickly (shades of Berard...) but he came back, a little uglier but just as sharp.

Next up is Philly.

Re: Shootout takes out Leafs

Boyes was the first round draft pick for Toronto in 2000, but I can't remember how he got to Boston? Who was he traded for? Anyone know? Seems like another for the what-were-they-thinking file.

Re: Shootout takes out Leafs

from nhl.com:
Boyes was selected by Toronto in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft (1st round, 24th overall)...Acquired by San Jose with Alyn McCauley and a first round selection in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft from Toronto in exchange for Owen Nolan on March 5, 2003...Acquired by Boston with Andy Delmore in exchange for Jeff Jillson and future considerations on March 9, 2004.

Hey bluenadwhite girl, doesn'tthis fall under "Tucker gets as well as he gives" category? I don't hear Tucker crying about it, do you?...

"McCabe dry as the Gobi"...gotcha...good visual...sorry your team didn't get to pull it off...

Re: Shootout takes out Leafs

yeah, tucker gets hit hard every game. His face is constantly in the process of healing from something.
but i don't think tucker expected to get caught it the face from the stick of his own linemate.

Still...he didn't cry about it...probably used to getting poked in the eye with a sharp stick the way the people pick on him...
