Leafs 7, Sabres Zero

You read that right.
Sabres pulled Miller after 3 in the first period, brought in Biron who let in two. By the second, there's Miller in net again.
Aubin gets a shutout, Antropov is the night's star (what the-?), Sundin's creeping up the points list. Still, the headline states today,
They're on fire exactly when it doesn't really matter.
Now they're being criticized for screwing up their draft pick ranking. I understand - still, when I watch i gotta root for a win. I can't be happy for a loss.
Ponikarovsky rocked. Very few penalties and one fight where belak ruled. The Sabres looked sad, tired and done.

Cool Re: Leafs 7, Sabres Zero

"That's the worst loss I've ever been a part of," McKee said. "We were dominated all over the ice in every area. We played like a team that is out of the playoffs and they played like a team that is comfortably in the playoffs."

If he plays like that for the next 9 games. Plus White can stay too. Good play last few games, and he's got his first NHL goal now.

White has been scoring in each game he has played thus far....he scored a lot in each of his minor league stops..here is the scouting report on him (www.hockeysfuture.com )

Talent Analysis

White made a name for himself at the 2003 WJC in Halifax as the quarterback of Canada's power play. His creativity and good shot was immediately evident, and he slowly earned more time as the tournament went on due to his underrated defensive play. White doesn't shy away from the tough going and plays solidly in his own end for such an offensive threat. Solid skater and passer, handles the puck at speed, sees the ice well and has an accurate shot. White is often compared to Brian Rafalski due to his size, and will have to overcome similar obstacles if he is to make it to the NHL. White owns a right-handed shot, a rarity in today's professional game, and something that may help him sidestep the size issues.

The topic here when announcers, coaches, etc are talking about the leafs is how great we are as an up and coming team ie let's lick the envelope and seal this season and be positive looking ahead. which is cool, i guess - we are an exciting young team, with more on the marlies coming up too, especially defensively.

What happened?...One minute you guys are picknig on the team for not pressing forward no matter what, and saying Eddie Belfour is slacking...then when they start winning, its "hey we rather look forward to next year"...geez...does the city have to complain about thier team...

Re: Leafs 7, Sabres Zero

yeah. i think it's an admitted belief that we're a long shot to get in - so mood's shifted to future. I'm still looking at this year, forever hopeful. but florida, jersey and atlanta keep winning -and as much as we need to keep winning? we need the others to lose too. We play Buffalo on Monday, again, in toronto, again. Bodes well.
