season ends, overhaul begins

Damien Cox, columnist in the Star says, Fire Ferguson if he doesn't boot raycroft.
Other suggestions in other articles:
Have Sundin take a pay cut and step back some, seeing as how he didn't deliver this year.
Get rid of McCabe.
Is Tucker worth it?
Ditto Antropov - he had a great year but do we pay him too much?

I have been of late a Raycroft fan, but I have to agree - with stronger goaltending we will do better.
The Sundin thing makes me feel sad, mostly because, it is true. he is a leader, but has he done his time here? Ninth two years in a row is hardly something to celebrate - not in my house, anyway.
Kaberle is very strong. I like Pohl, Stajan, Colaiacovo and White - Kilger is a real strong hitter and shaker - he seems to have taken over where Tucker left off, though he doesn't get as many goals scored.
My one plea: Keep Hal Gill.
He's magnificent in a few ways. We need his size, we need his reach, we need his wisdom - and he looks not so bad while doing all that.

Why get rid of McCabe? I would take him back on my team in a heartbeat. And Sundin only scored something like 1 goal in the last 15 games, right?

Blue, what was the reaction of the Leafs' team, fans, and the press regarding Lameriello's decision not to play Brodeur?

I know, it seems crappy of me - but if I look at the team, i think goaltending was the sorest part all season.

They had to pull him in the game against the Canadiens. It seems to me like the Leafs big problems is putting the puck in the net, am I wrong? Did they have anybody close to scoring 40 goals this year?

Re: season ends, overhaul begins

tied it at 37.
but his GAA and save percentage don't reflect a stellar season. he turned it on at one point this year. for a while.
I'm being cutthroat - you gotta be.

And yeah, Pundit, we need more goals - but when you've got a good goalie that you are confident in, it all seems to flow from there.
Raycroft was not consistent. Pulling him that last game was depressing. nice final thbbbb (raspberry).

Well if he only tied it...remind me not to go to work for you if you ever become CEO of a company...you'd say Gotham, you only tied the corporate sales record...out you go...

Re: season ends, overhaul begins

who's an unrestricted free agent now?
Peca, O'neill, Antropov, Perreault, Aubin, battaglia, Green and Devereaux.
hey, i forgot we had Green - he didn't play those last few games, along with o'Neill.
Restricted free agents:
Colaiacovo, Suglobov, Williams, Ponikarovsky, White and kronwall.
Maurice has already stated He likes kronwall. Pony, colaiacovo (who might need knee surgery), White and Devereaux have solidified their places on the team.
O'Neill and Green I don't think are long for toronto.
Aubin's place is shaky until they decide what's up with Raycroft.
Antropov is expensive (a little over a million). Peca too (2,500,000).
Battaglia? Perreault? Not too expensive, $500,000 and $700,000 respectively, but I don't know.
