Sabres vs. leafs, two in a row, first tonight

Who is out? Peca and Newbury for us - Kaberle is expected to play - and Afinogenov, Gaustad, Connolly, Lydman, Kotalik and Paille for the Sabres.
We have to win. Carolina, the rangers and the Islanders are all winning - it's sickening. We have to play like we did on Tues vs. the Devils.

Re: Sabres vs. leafs, two in a row, first tonight

I can barely think about it - it hurts too much. leading 4-01, Leafs end the night with a loser, 5-4.
Played a good game for the most part, unravelled in the third.
I will say - and don't say sour grapes cause it seemed blaringly obvious - that there were a number of calls made against the Sabres that should have been made. two high sticks that left blood on the faces of two leafs, no call. Finally, Kilger took another one, didn't bleed, Sabres are made to take 2 minutes.
Slashing on Kubina's stick that left him stickless, and seconds later resulted in a goal for the sabres. That was a call that should have been made. the ref was right there. Blind.
But most of all? Miller should have received an unsportsmanlike for the throwing of his stick after devereaux put one in the net off the ref. i don't care of the puck took nasty bounce off a an official - they are there, deal with it. That lack of a call was disgusting - I think the ref felt bad for the sabres because of that goal that put Leafs ahead 4-1 - the stick almost took him out when miller tossed it.
that said, leafs like i said unravelled and it was really tough to watch.

Cool Re: Sabres vs. leafs, two in a row, first tonight

That's a brutal loss. And you're right about the refs. If the score was closer or the Sabres were winning, they probably would have made the call on Miller.
