They did it. Great playing, mostly controlled game. A big part is, few penalties. the goals scored by the Canes were not pretty goals - Telqvist kicked one in with his foot, the second was a dribbler in front of the net that Staal got to before kaberle. Allison scored his sixth goal in six games and came up with the game winner.
There was an invisible penalty last night, a call on O'Neill (who was the third star of the game - a long time coming). Apparently, the ref saw O'Neill considering a trip on a Hurricane player, so blew the whistle to put a stop to that. Precautionary whistle blowing. there was no trip, there was no touching. An invisible penalty.
Then the Hurricanes scored the second goal. maddening.
but we won. And Montreal lost. Next up? Two games vs. Montreal. It's gonna be tense, man. Montreal's in 9th now, and we are in 10th place.
I'll say it again (new mantra): Don't take stupid penalties, Don't take stupid penalties...

Hey now...two mantras for the price of one....O'Neill rises from the dead...a "Phantom Penalty"...You almost have me wanting to watch the Leafs play...maybe there is a front office job with your name on it...I think I will place a call to the franchise on your behalf... let you know how it goes...
