Leafs beat bruins in shootout

I have to admit, I missed the first period - so when i sat down, it was all leafs. Sure the bruins were there - to take way too many penalties. that Boynton needs to figure out what to do with his anger cause it's just a pain in the butt for the rest of the team.
And is Gill like a giant of some form? - standing next to Tucker, they looked like David and Goliath.
Third period, the network lists the shots on goal and it's pretty close, 27 to 31, Bruins and leafs respectively. A littler later, the announcer mentions how the bruins have only had 5 shots on net totalled for the 2nd and 3rd periods. WHAT? I missed some kind of first period where they must have peppered Mr. Tellqvist silly.
Goes to shootout, I'm nervous because let's be honest we SUCK at it, but apparently we are playing a team who sucks more (WOO-HOO). Tellqvist shines, Tucker gets the winning goal, Sundin was great.
Eddie's got a bad back so tellqvist is in in a big way.
That's the fun, now let's get serious. Important points, but from this point on, the opponents are real.

Thus sadly ends the Edddie era?

Re: Leafs beat bruins in shootout

doesn't look good for him - especially when it's a shootout and Tellqvist blocks all three shots.

Well then here is a little song for Eddie...

(With apologies to Paul Simon’s “Mrs Robinson" )

And here 's to you Ed-die Belfour
Toronto no longer loves you don't you know (Wo, wo, wo)
Now go home please Ed-die Belfour,
There's no place left where you can play,
(Hey, hey, hey...hey, hey, hey)

We'd trade you now if you did not have so many miles
We'd like to get someone else in goal besides yourself
Look around you all you see are less than sympathetic eyes
Toronto's ice you can no longer call your home
And here 's to you Ed-die Belfour

Toronto no longer loves you don't you know (Wo, wo, wo)

Now go home please Ed-die Belfour,
There's no place left where you can play,
(Hey, hey, hey...hey, hey, hey)

Hide yourself in a hiding place where no one ever goes
Your game is now softer than a cupcake
It's no secret that Toronto's being a bit unfair
But what can you do when your goalie is on a skid

Coo, coo, ca-choo, Ed-die Belfour
Toronto no longer loves you don't you know (Wo, wo, wo)

Now go home please Ed-die Belfour,
There's no place left for you to play,
(Hey, hey, hey...hey, hey, hey)

Sitting on a sofa on a Sunday afternoon
Your back is hurtin’, there is no need for debate
Laugh about it, shout about it
You have a touch of Maple Leaf Blues
And Ev'ry way you look at it, you lose

Where have you gone, Terry Sawchuk
Toronto turns its lonely eyes to you (Woo, woo, woo)
What's that you say, Ed-die Belfour
1967 seems so far, so far away
(Hey, hey, hey...hey, hey, hey)

You just gotta be real, man, and when they're done, they're done. Doesn't mean i wouldn't buy him a beer.
you had to mention 67, eh?

Yeah, had to add an air of nostalgia to the whole thing...a sense of longing for a goalie from an era gone by... ...best I could do in 10 minutes or less...
