MapleLeafs Trades

It ain't news that'll make you have to sit down, but Klee is gone to Jersey for a winger with a great name - Suglobov. There's been an acquisition from Bowling Green State University, young scorer named Alex Foster.
Also, Luke Richardson is a new addition to the Leafs blueline, plucked from DK's Jackets.

Here is the scoop on Suglobov: http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospect.php?pid=1480

Talent Analysis

Suglobov is a sniper, always looking for a way to score. He has a hard shot, but often misses his target. His passing skills are average. He is not yet an effective playmaker, at times making poor positioning decisions. However, he has shown signs of improvement in this area the past couple of seasons.
Suglobov is not a physical player, instead relying on his talent and athleticism to get by. He has great speed and excellent puck handling skills, able to burn many defensemen with his raw talent. The problem is, raw talent is not enough at a high level of hockey, and his hesitation to take or deliver a hit really hurts him on the ice. Lack of a physical presence also negatively impacts Suglobov’s defensive game.
Suglobov is a talented player, but does not play a smart game. He lacks certain mental qualities that just can’t be taught, but makes up for a lot of them with his raw physical talent.
Future

Though Suglobov's numbers increased substantially in his second pro season, he lacked consistency from night to night. The Devils are still high on Suglobov's offensive potential, but he must smooth out his inconsistent play and provide maxium effort each and every game.
Information on Alexander Suglobov courtesy of Eugene Belashchenko of www.russianprospects.com and also HF Devils Writer Greta Kvernes

and Luke Richardson, how could we resist...the man is 37 and winding down....where else are we going to ship him except Toronto?...where blueandwhite coined that famous slogan, " Hockey players come here to die".. ...enjoy!

And don't forget the whole philosophical full-circle aspect to this. Richardson (Like Clarke) started as a Leaf way back in 1987. And now, perhaps, will end as a Leaf.

There's sort of a beauty in the symmetry.

Which brings all players back to die in Toronto?...the circle of life?...isn't there a disney song that goes with this?...maybe Toronto fans can sing it to old players as they walk back into the rink?...look just a thought...no need to drop the gloves, metaphorically speaking.

Perhaps James Earl Jones could be persuaded to come up and introduce him when he skates out? Maybe Elton John could write a song for it? His new husband is a Toronto native.

That's all I was saying...way to play along and add to the convo...maybe I will take a shot at re-wording the song when I get a chance just for fun...

with apologies to Tim Rice the writer of the song "The Circle of Life"...here you go ...in honor of those who go to "Die in Toronto"

From the day they arrive in Toronto
And skate unto the ice
There's not much more they can be, you can take it from me
They're far gone, that's why they are here
More goals you will find, can never found
But the sun rolling high Through the Canadian sky
Keeps the great but the old on one last endless go-round
It's the Circle of Life
And it moves Toronto
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till they find that the team's
Road to the Cup is unwinding
In the Circle The Circle of Life
It's the Circle of Life
