close race in east, leafs lose to canes

I'm missing a post here, wonder how i lost it.
Wrote about how close the eastern conference is, that there are a number of teams vying for a playoff spot (Boston, Ottawa, Toronto, Carolina, Pittsburgh, Tampa bay). That the next three games the Leafs play could either move them from 8th to 5th (if they win them) or 12th (if they lose them).
We played Carolina last night and they happen to be one of the teams we are vying with.
So we lost. 4-1.
We are no longer in such a contention, seeing as how Ottawa, Carolina, Tampa Bay all won.
Ward looked good, but more frustrating was that the defencemen always seemed to get in the way of our puck. Raycroft wasn't disappointing, the guys got way too many penalties (sounds like old times). 4 in a row until finally carolina's laRose got one 11.27 into the second.
Still, excluding the first period, play was uninspired.
White hit the boards and looks like he either broke his arm or wrist. the leafs damage list is extended once again.

Maybe its the color of the uniform...a little red added to the blue might change thier luck a bit...time to shake it up a little don't you think?
They really can't be that brittle.

Um, i'd rather look at it as the glass is half full -
they push themselves to the edge and more. no halfway for the leafs - they play all or nothing.

See that's more in the spirit...maybe if the fans all where their jerseys on game day inside out, they will break the jinx...kinda reverse it if you will...it's sooo worth the try...
