I love that. Well, I don't LOVE that, because that's not exactly what the Leafs need, to get rid of one of ther best players. It's just media hype to get the reader freaking out. He MIGHT be traded.
But seems he's pushing for a 5 million a year contract for 5 years, and a no trade clause, which was something Kaberle couldn't get. Word is that McCabe wants to test the free market waters. See how much he brings in. His agent admits knowing nothing about this.
I wonder, was there ever a day when a hockey player remained loyal to a team and it didn't become about $$$$$$$? It just isn't so these days, anyway. Seems the Leafs only have something like 4.75 million left over from the Kaberle deal to pay McCabe. yeah, it sucks not to have that extra point two five million, you know, mad money.
Other related news puts out Jay McKee and Mattias Norstrom as defensemen who will possibly be available to us this summer.
On the good side, Boston lost. When I told my husband this morning as he was leaving for work, he said, Who cares? Apathy has set in.

So lets see, the going rate is...hmmm...$100,000 a point...which makes him a total bargin at $5 million...cause he is worth $5.3 million...I mean why insult the man with an offer of $4-$4,75 million just because there is a salary cap?...The total injust of it all...

I can say now with 20/20 hindsight - he was too expensive - what did he do for us this season? he made giveaways his specialty and took the money to the bank. How many times was i watching a game, hitting my forehead, shrieking,

That's all I needed...glad to see that it only took you a year and three to months to maul that one over...

on a total side note, he did help my GTG hockey team in the regular season, so from that point of view, I can't fault the guy...

But yeah, overpaid...
