Leafs meet islanders tonight in busy week

4 games in 6 nights. That's my kind of week.
Aubin may sit out again because of his flu, giving Tellqvist the backup seat on the bench as razor raycroft should be back in net.
Belak is out. My husband will like this. He hates Belak like I hate people who bud in line. He has become our enforcer but I'm not sure we want that - enforcers have become a dinosaur in today's NHL. Maurice bounces belak from defence to forward like he can do both but what he ends up doing is one of three things: A) has a fight, B) takes a stupid penalty, or C) both.
Islanders have been playing well (3-0-1 on this road trip so far) and they have no injuries. Our glaring injury is Mister sundin.
We need to turn on the offence. We are shooting but we aren't scoring. Who needs to score to relieve their nasty drought?
Steen. Kilger. Peca. Wellwood (enough with the assists).
And anyone else can jump in, too.

Cool Re: Leafs meet islanders tonight in busy week

I'm psyched for this game, Blue. Should be fun. The Isles goaltending has been off the charts the last three games. You'll get DiPietro tonight.

Yeah and if raycroft is back in net, that should heighten the tension.
I can't stand Yashin but I'm eager to see him play as he's doing so well. See if we can stop him.

And silly us, didn't even mention the whole Peca-Tucker debacle, which of course the reporters bring up cause it's the Islanders. peca says again, They love each other now.
You know, Pundit? I am very happy with peca. he is some penalty killer.
We win - the Leafs I mean - 4-2. Wonderful goal by Pohl with a pass from if you can imagine Belak (see previous post, I label him a goon). Islanders came to life after the first period (1st period saw raycroft snoozing as shots were Toronto 13, NY 5) but by end of game, shots were TO 33, NY 21.
Actually, still sort of a snooze fest. guess we did keep yashin in check - no points for the big Russian. Ditto, Satan.
I like seeing Ted nolan back behind the bench, though. And Simon playing for his old coach from the Soo. There are alot of good players on NY this year - tons came through the summer.
