Leafs blow out Senators 6-0

Wow, something got into the Leafs today...they pitched a Shutout against the Senators 6-0...Darcy Tucker found the net twice...so which is the real Leaf's team?

Re: Leafs blow out Senators 6-0

We haven't had a game like that in Ottawa for some time.
It was pretty on, wasn't it? Raycroft, Sundin, Tucker, Wellwood, Kubina - everyone played like we want them to play, like they mean it.
I think the highest point of last night was watching Wellwood get 4 assists. he's on the line with Sundin and ponikarovsky and he's been dissed as not being good enough to be on that line, too young and green and just not good enough. but he's a pretty skater and he makes some darn pretty plays and last night, he showed why he's on that line. Glad to see ponikarovsky play well too, but my one to watch is Chad Kilger. he had two goals, one short handed. he's a scrapper.
Ah the smile on the fans of the Leafs to be able to trounce the Sens, to watch the red, black and gold sweaters leave the ice with nary a goal, to see gerber - who was the greatest a couple nights ago - get pulled after 2 periods.
What a difference a day makes.
Who are the real leafs? last night -that's the leafs - they just have to make themselves play that way every game - they have it, it's obvious. Good hockey.

I laughed when you "auto picked" Sundin and Darcy Tucker in our draft...but...well ...maybe they were totally good picks...maybe someone will pick up the Wellwood kid now...

Re: Leafs blow out Senators 6-0

What a beautiful night! Fun stats: Leafs now lead the eastern conference (2nd in the league after Chicago) in goals for. The Senators have the highest goals against in the conference (2nd in the league after Nashville). Wellwood leads the Leafs in points (4 assists). Raycroft, after two games, has more shutouts than Belfour did all last season.
