| Tie Domi retires, and there's gossip So he decided to become a hockey tv analyst, every retired hockey goon's desire in life's post season. 3515 total penalty minutes (3rd on NHL list), 15 seasons in the NHL, 12 with the Leafs. But the juicier news is, the reporters were asking him about his relationship with Belinda Stronach - she's a big profile politician up here, a used to be Conservative who walked over to the Liberals with a very rich Daddy. What the...???? It says on Domi's website that it still says he's married to Leanne (high school sweetheart) with 3 kids. Wonder how Leanne feels about that? Does she have to check the website every so often to make sure she's still married to him? And on that subject, and I know he's not a Leaf but I'll mention it here, apparently there are rumours flying that Pronger's wife wanted out of Edmonton because of his wandering eye, etc. and how he may have a baby or more than one floating around out there. He says it's ridiculous. But they are in California after a very surprising request to leave, because it was so far away from family. On to more practical news, Thomas Kaberle has a (hockey related) groin pull and he's not playing tonight.      |

| Re: Tie Domi retires, and there's gossip Farewell Tie. Tie Domi is another one of those players that went to my high school. He was there the same time as I was, just a few years ahead. I remember the first time I saw him in the halls. He looked like a Gorilla - even back then. I remember watching him play for the Petes. I also remember the general surprise in the city when he was drafted. "Domi? He's just a goon! What's he going to do in the NHL?". Well he had a good long career now didn't he. Can't say I'm sad to see him go though. It was time. I'm glad he chose to retire rather than fight the fact that his time has come and gone (ala Belfour). Let's hope this means the end of the enforcer era. |

His wife has served divorce papers, citing the Liberal strumpet as the reason - well, infidelity as the reason, i suppose. I won't sit in judgement but woohoo we got rid of Domi and his bad smell just in the nick of time. Hockey players may drink too much but it seems they are a loyal bunch - to their wives, anyway, if not their teams. |
