The Toronto Blue Jays have designated Shea Hillenbrand for assignment after Hillenbrand reportedly wrote "This is a sinking ship" on a chalkboard in the Toronto clubhouse. He is talented, but very abrasive, I recall when he left here (Boston) he threw shots at Theo Epstien calling him a fag and other names. I also recall him comparing himself to Bagwell.

So they gave the rundown on what the last big tussle was that sent Hillebrand packing. he wrote on the clubhouse message board, "Play for yourselves". so catcher Gregg Zaun wrote after that, "And for your paychecks". then said to Shea, "isn't that what you really meant to say?" Then someone, it is not sure who, later wrote "This is a sinking ship" about the team, and coach Gibbons saw it, blew up, said he knew it was Shea and in front of his teammates dared him to stand up and punch him in the face. Shea says he didn't write it, and wouldn't fight the coach.
Zaun is also the one people attribute the quote that an anonymous player on the team was "a cancer". zaun says if he wanted to say that about Shea, he would have said it to his face.
As the baseball world turns. Now Gibbons job is on the line, apparently, because GM Ricciardi has publicly said that gibbons's job is more secure than it has ever been. Which, is a death knell in Blue Jay Land. Go figure.
