Top Three Franchise Players

1. Joe Carter- He hit that crazy walk-off homerun to win the 1993 world series against the Phillies. Also had a career 396 homeruns.

2. Carlos Delgado- Along with hitting 40 or more homeruns three times with the Blue Jays in a season, he also has 457 career homeruns.

3. Roy Halladay- So far has spent his whole career with the Blue Jays and has a career ERA of 3.54 along with 1236 strikeouts.

Re: Top Three Franchise Players

No George Bell? The man's just the only Blue Jay ever to be named the American League MVP, and he was a three-time All-Star, a three-time Silver Slugger, the first player to hit three home runs on opening day and finished his career with a .278 average, 265 home runs and 1,002 RBI in an era where those numbers were pretty darn good.

Bell's a no brainer, IMO. The others are harder. I think of Joe Carter, Carlos Delgado, Fred McGriff, Jack Morris, Paul Moltior, Roger Clemens... they've had a lot of really good players, some HOFers, but none of them have ever been really defined by their years in Toronto.

Fernandez and Tom Henke are too I'd really like to add to the list... but I just can't, you know? None of these guys really jump out at you.

Thats a good point maybe I should have added him. However I think their WS is bigger than having a player that once one MVP which is why I had Joe Carter in there. As for Delgado he had some great years in Toronto. Clemens had two seasons there so I thought Halladay fit that better.

Re: Top Three Franchise Players

Roger Clemens spent two seasons with the Blue Jays. Although they were absolutely fantastic ones, it was only two.
