Toronto cuts Frank Thomas

ESPN is reporting that the Toronto Blue Jays have cut DH Frank Thomas.
This just a few days after he was benched after going just 0 for his last 13 and 4 for his last 35.
So, was this the right move? And does this spell the end of the Big Hurt's career?

Wow!...didn't see that coming...he has his 500 dingers...and no one has signed Bonds...so I don't think there will be a taker. Loved seeing him hit the long ball in Mr. Baseball.

He wasn't happy about being benched, he was hitting something like .167, and he was due a $10 million option last year.
I can definitely understand why they did it.

Sad thing is, that money has changed the way a player goes out...in years past he would have been with the White Sox all his career, and gotten a farewell tour.

I hope somebody picks him up. There has to be a team that needs a DH. He should not have to go out like this. He may have hung around too long.

Though to say he hung in too long when he is coming off a 26 Homer 95 RBI year. But he is 40 now...so it may be over.

It's sad to see him go and I was a big fan of him but I think his time was up ... Here in Toronto people are asking why didn't J.P. try to trade him . I'm sure he probably did try but there weren't any taker . If he does get pick up by another team I don't think he will get much in the $$$ . Again if plays this year it will probably be his last .
