Gibbons to return in 2008

According to Yahoo! Sports, "John Gibbons will not lose his job for the failure of his Toronto Blue Jays to earn a playoff spot for the 13th consecutive year but he's not letting himself totally off the hook, despite a vote of confidence from his bosses... Blue Jay general manager J.P. Ricciardi said yesterday that, after consulting with team president Paul Godfrey, Gibbons will be back as manager of the Jays next year, despite the fact his team fell short of expectations." So, good move bringing Gibbons back?

Cool Re: Gibbons to return in 2008

I think it's fine. The Jays problems are all their injuries. They need guys like BJ Ryan, AJ Burnett and Troy Glaus to stay healthy

Also, I think Wells and Thomas were a big disappointment

The Big Hurt a let down? No way, he's came up big all year. Wells needs to step it up. And Halladay can't pitch every game.

Re: Gibbons to return in 2008

couple of weeks ago he hit a walk off single up the middle. he's doing fine. But you can't go to the playoffs with just that, they need more.

.276 average
.378 obp
26 hr
94 rbi

isn't that what a DH is suppose to do?
