Since Lyle Overbay went down and Matt Stairs has played every day, he's been hitting the heck out of the ball

In the last Month here has been Stairs stat line:

6 homers 16 RBI's .297 avg and .560 slugging...Not bad for the 39 year old, huh?

Since Lyle Overbay and Reed Johnson came back, Stairs has been relegated to the bench and the Jays have not played well....He should be in the lineup every day. In either left, or DH.... He really is too good a hitter not be playing. Frank Thomas is hitting .200 with RISP, he can use a spell now and then.

Stairs was out of the lineup again and the Blue Jays lost. Look I'm not trying to make him out to be Roy Hobbs, but he's a good hitter and the Jays need to play the guy.

Why would the manager not play the hot bat. Is he not trying to win?

They'd rather play Reed Johnson because he's faster and a better fielder. But there's no reason they can't rotate Stairs in the lineup and spot Johnson, Overbay, Frank Thomas....I have a feeling that they're going to trade him anyway by the deadline.
