ESPN's Buster Olney writes the Blue Jays are shopping outfielder Alex Rios in the hopes of landing a middle of the rotation starter. After re-signing Vernon Wells to a long deal, they should be able to pick up if not a nice young starters, some nice young prospects in addition to a solid veteran pitcher.

I'm not sure anything is being reported as fact yet. However, there's a rumor the Blue Jays are talking with the Dodgers about Brad Penny.

Wow! I mean Alex Rios is such a great player and would be a perfect fit in LA. He would supply some power that they drastically need. I think he'll end up there, sell a lot of jerseys and all that jazz.

Rios is also just hitting his peak. I think the Jays would be nuts to deal him.

Yeah I agree. The Jays are better off keeping Rios and seeing what their youngsters like McGowan can do for a whole season.
