| Blue Jays eliminated With yesterday's 6-3 loss to the Yankees, the Toronto Blue Jays were officially eliminated from playoff contention. It's just a matter of this team being unable to come through in the clutch, according to Larry Millson of the Globe and Mail. Millson writes: "The Blue Jays continued their pathetic situational hitting in Tuesday's first inning. After a single, a wild pitch and a balk put Frank Catalanotto at third base with one out, Vernon Wells popped out to second. Troy Glaus, who had his first runs batted in since Aug. 25 in Monday's 7-6 loss, hit a long fly to right field to end the inning. In Monday's game, the Blue Jays had the bases loaded with none out and failed to score." So, Toronto's eliminated, despite spending a ton of money on free agent pitching during the offseason to become contenders. So what kept this team from fulfilling their promise, and how do they improve for '07?

| Re: Blue Jays eliminated They were unsettled in the middle of the infield, and except for BJ Ryan, the bullpen was a mess. Burnett missed half the year, and they had to keep trotting guys like Josh Towers out there to pitch. The manager doesn't seem like the second coming of Dick Williams either.
