Re: Blue Jays OF Vernon Wells

Vernon Wells hit a two-run homer yesterday to help the Blue Jays to a 4-3 Labor Day win over the Cleveland Indians. Wells now has 31 homers and 93 RBI on the season. I know he's been one of the stars of my fantasy team all season, too - the dude is a hell of a player. He's also a free agent after the 2007 season. How important is it for Toronto to lock Wells up to a long-term deal? Essential, I'd say. What do you think?

Re: Blue Jays OF Vernon Wells

Yeah, the Jays just started to build a good team here ( and it is pretty good), but they NEED Wells in order to threaten New York and Boston.

It depends on how much its gonna cost them to lock up Wells...still a good player...had a few up and down years...

Re: Blue Jays OF Vernon Wells

Vernon Wells is one of the most solid players in the outfield that baseball has right now. Last year when I cruised through the Rogers Centre (I got lost), I noticed that Wells was the fans' favorite player. They had posters for him on every corner of the walls and really advertised how they had Wells on their roster. It would be smart for them to sign him back to succeed and to fill up those seats.
