Once again, the Texas Ranger bats bailed out the pitching. Down seven runs, the Rangers got a grand slam by Rod Barajas, a pair of home runs by rookie Ian Kinsler, a dinger from Mark Teixeira and a two-out, ninth-inning walk off shot from the slumping Phil Nevin. Nevin was 0-for-17 entering that at-bat, but came through big in the clutch last night. How many wins would this team have if they had a halfway decent pitching staff and bullpen?

You know...you would think this team would catch on by now that to success starts with pitching...their top hitters will not have this kind of success against a big time pitching staff.

You can't forget about Phil Nevin who came to Texas midway last season! I think he won the respect from his fellow teammates that game. It was a great performance for the 11-year veteran.

He is slumping (.056 in last 18AB) but he is projected to have 29 homers and 103 RBIs by the end of the season if he continues on pace. But with these slumps I do not see those numbers in his range. What about you?
