Cool Re: Authentic Nolan Ryan Game Baseballs

Each baseball comes with a certificate that authenticates it was prepared as a game ball for a Nolan Ryan start during his final season with the Texas Rangers in 1993. The Texas Rangers Baseball Club has preserved the baseballs, and Major League Baseball has authenticated Nolan Ryan's signature. Each baseball will cost $299 plus $25 for tax, shipping, and handling. A baseball from a specific 1993 home game may be ordered, subject to availability, with a special order fee of $99. All proceeds from the sale of the baseballs will benefit the Nolan Ryan Foundation and the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation.

The Nolan Ryan Foundation was formed in 1990. Nolan generously gives his time for autographs and other fundraising efforts that enable the Foundation to provide resources for educational opportunities and community development.
Currently, the Foundation is fulfilling a pledge to the YMCA as they bring a new facility to Alvin, Texas, and has also partnered with The Miracle League to help build a baseball field for physically and mentally challenged children in Austin, Texas.

I am guessing this goes as a tax write off right?...so in that light its a slightyl better deal...plus it helps out handicap kids...so, that's cool.

I was @ Yankee Stadium in May of 1988 sitting down the left field line. I caught a ball hit by Mickey Brantley of Seattle that was pitched by Rich Dotson of the Yanks. I still have it somewhere. I'll have my friend Brian who was at the game with me draw up a certificate of authenticity. I'm only asking $300 for it.

Re: Authentic Nolan Ryan Game Baseballs

Hi folks,
I'm new to posting messages on forums so please "be gentle" . Maybe someone can answer my son's question. He's 25 years old but real busy at grad school so he asked me to do this for him.

When he was about 9 years old, he won 1st prize in some sort of "breakfast cereal" contest. The prize was a baseball with Nolan Ryan's signature on it. The signature looks like it was stamped on it and not written by Ryan himself. Below the signature are three inscriptions.

The first inscription says: 5000th STRIKEOUT 8-22-89.
The second inscription say: 300TH WIN 7-31-90.
The third inscription says: 27 MAJOR LEAGUE SEASONS.

The baseball looks to be an official MLB baseball with red laces.

My son says he is going to save it for his son but wanted me to find out what kind of value the baseball has, if any. I'm sure it's got some sort of value so I told him he should keep it wrapped and put up in a safe place.

I did take pictures of it with my rinky dink digital camera so I can send out pictures if anyone wants to see it. The pics aren't very good and makes the ball look yellow and faded but the ball is in pristine shape.

Can anyone help me on this? It would be very much appreciated.

Thanks again,
Charlie

Hi Catspaw, welcome to GoTeamsGo...your best bet is to check out a magazine called "Tuff Stuff"...here is their site...http://www.tuffstuff.com/...you might want to e-mail them...they price up that sort of thing.

Re: Authentic Nolan Ryan Game Baseballs

Can someone help me on this? My son won a Nolan Ryan autographed baseball in '90 or '91. He was about 9 years old. He still has the ball and would like to find out it's value. He wants to give it to his son (when he produces one ). He would do this task himself but grad school keeps him very busy. I hope I'm not in error by asking about this. Here's a description of the baseball.

The signature looks like it's not an original but a stamped one.
Below the signature are three lines of stats.

First line : 5000TH STRIKEOUT 8-22-89
Second Line: 300TH WIN 7-31-90
Third Line : 27 MAJOR LEAGUE SEASONS

I think it is an official MLB baseball with it's red laces but I really don't know.

Again I hope I'm not in error by asking this but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Charlie

Re: Authentic Nolan Ryan Game Baseballs

Sorry about the SAME TWO POSTS but when I tried to post it the first time I was told that it didn't post and had to LOG IN. Dunno what happened. Sorry.
