MLBTradeRumors believes the Texas Rangers are the early favorites in the Torii Hunter free-agent sweepstakes.

Not only does Hunter's family live in Arlington, Texas but it's realistic that Texas could afford him. MLBTR makes an interesting point that if A-Rod opts out of his current deal at the end of the season, Texas will save some significant money over the next three years.

So Hunter to Texas....it would certainly help their defense.
