Sammy Sosa homers

Sammy Sosa hit a pair of two home runs yesterday off the Cleveland Indians, giving him 594 on his career. According to the Associated Press, "Sosa's 439-foot drive leading off the sixth inning... made Jacobs Field the 44th major league ballpark in which he has homered. That broke a tie with Ken Griffey Jr. and Fred McGriff for the most in a big league career." So is Sosa back to his old form here? He's hitting just .239 with 6 homers and 18 RBI in 19 games.

He looks like he has a ton of power left...his bat speed is probably down...like Reggie Jackson in his old days, he is probably guessing at pitches and cheating a bit to get the bat going...instead of reacting and relying on his bat speed...thus his average will suffer, but he should be able to put up decent power numbers...

The bat thing with the two dingers, they came against my GTG team...though I am still up 8-2 this week...

Re: Sammy Sosa homers

I knew Sammy Sosa was a decent pick-up in our GTG Fantasy Baseball League.

I just overlooked his .196 AVG knowing that he would belt these giant homers.
