Well, surprise, surprise. According to the Associated Press, "Eric Gagne will start the season on the disabled list for the Texas Rangers, a move the team is making to give the closer more time to come back from elbow and back operations... The Rangers said Gagne hasn't had any health setbacks." Gagne claims to feel pretty healthy, but this move would suggest otherwise. Will this guy ever be the closer he once was?

Leaves me in the need of a reliever...that's okay, the guy will be their for my playoff drives...the early part of the season is about taking risks...

I have him in 2 of my leagues. He' s pitching okay and is not injured. They're just being careful with him.

Apr 8 Texas Rangers CL Eric Gagne (elbow/back), on a rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco, pitched on consecutive days for the first time in nearly two years, according to the Associated Press. Gagne faced three batters, Friday, April 6, throwing a total of 15 pitches. He threw 17 pitches, 12 of which were strikes, the following day. Gagne is scheduled to pitch again for Double-A Frisco, Tuesday, April 10. If all goes well, he will travel with the parent club, Thursday, April 12, and be activated from the disabled list in time for the Rangers' weekend series against the Seattle Mariners.

I picked him up again and placed him on the DL...were he will stay til I can see what he does in a game or two...

Time will tell. Definitely not at first, but the potential is there. Personally, I have my doubts.
