Michael Young got a pretty sweet deal from the Rangers today, signing a new five year $80 million extension. Young's contract will keep him a Ranger through the 2013 season. The
Dallas Morning News writes, "The club will pick up its $5 million option for 2008, then guarantee five years at $16 million per season."
Interestingly, Young will have a no-trade clause for the entire length of the contract safe for a small two month window in the beginning of the 2011 season.
Good signing as Young continues to be one of the more underrated players in the game.
