2006 Texas Rangers Baseball Schedule

Those lucky Texas Rangers fans -- their team has 7 straight home games scheduled to open the season. Their first opponent will be the Red Sox, who come to town for games on April 3, 4 & 5. After that, Texas hosts the Detroit Tigers in a four game set scheduled to run from the 6th through to the 9th.

After that, though, the 2006 Texas Rangers Baseball Schedule takes a big twist. After their home stand, the club will go on to face the entire AL West -- the Angels, Athletics and Mariners -- in three consecutive 3-game road series. They will be in Anaheim from the 10th through the 12th, then Oakland from the 14th through the 16th and finally Seattle from the 18th through the 20th.

It'd be too early to call these make-or-break games, but a very good or very bad record in these nine games could help define the season in the American League Western Division, don't you think?

Thumbs up Re: 2006 Texas Rangers Baseball Schedule

I think that this would be a great chance for the Rangers to consolidate a lead that could hold them in good stead for the entire season. There's nothing like a home-field advantage, so the first seven games all being at the Ballpark in Arlington is an excellent opportunity to lay the foundation for later on. If they work extra hard and win all or almost all of these games, they can roll into the first series of away games with momentum that may help them overcome the other teams' home field advantage. If they can take the lead in those nine games, they'll be very hard indeed to catch up with.

Of course, this is all "if, if, if," but isn't that what most prognostications are made of? I can't wait to see how the Rangers handle those first seven games.

Go Mariners!

Other than that put aside, the Rangers go look somewhat scary. They're developing some pitching that might keep the runs down a little, and the bats have always been good. Of course, the Ballpark in Arlington does that.

It will be nice watching those opening games.
