The Rangers are close to signing SP Vincente Padilla according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports. The proposed deal is likely to be three years and $34 million.

He's a nice pitcher who as long as he can stay healthy, should improve. Would be a nice signing.

No, you're not. But this is the "Year of Stupid, Outrageously Expensive Signings", so the Rangers have decided to follow suit.

Padilla is a pretty solid starter and has nice stuff, but there's no way he's worth anywhere near $10 million bucks a year.
