| New Texas Rangers manager Who do you think will take over for Buck Showalter as the manager of the Texas Rangers? Hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo has passed on the job. Texas is expected to make a pitch for both Joe Torre (if fired) and Lou Pinella (if Torre isn't fired). Don Wakamatsu, Showalter's bench coach, seems to be the top candidate right now, though. Who do you think winds up with this job?

| Re: New Texas Rangers manager So who is up next on their scounting chart? Lou Pinella is a good manager. I would grab him but he probably won't lead the team to a championship within his stay! |

| Re: New Texas Rangers manager - Manny Acta? Good call, Empire! Acta interviews for the opening on Friday, according to the above article, which also says that the Mets third base coach "will be the third candidate to interview for the vacancy that came open when the Rangers dismissed Buck Showalter at the end of the season... Oakland third-base coach Ron Washington interviewed on Tuesday. John Russell, who managed the Philadelphia Phillies' Triple-A team in Scranton-Wilkes Barre, is scheduled to interview on Thursday." |
