Re: Longhorns - Mean Green game

The defending national champion Texas Longhorns open their 2006 season today, looking for their 21st straight victory as they face the Mean Green of North Texas. The UT defense better focus on shutting down junior tailback Jamario Thomas, who as a freshman two years ago led the nation in rushing with 1,801 yards before suffering an injury last season. Meanwhile, for the Horns, all eyes will be on Colt McCoy in his first start at QB. The Sports Network predicts a 49-7 Texas victory. That sound about right to you guys?

Re: Longhorns - Mean Green game

Dominant performance so far. Texas leads 28-0 at the half. Colt McCoy is currently 9-15 for 128 yds and two passing touchdowns. He's also added 35 yards and a third score on the ground. Meanwhile, the Longhorn defense held the Mean Green to -14 net yards in the first half. Good show for the defending champs thus far, eh?

The 'Horns looked very good. Next week should be exciting when the host Ohio State. I hate the over-rated Big 11 even more than the Longhorns so I hope Texas rolls.
