Ramonce Taylor arrested

Police arrested Texas RB Ramonce Taylor today after finding a backpack containing about 5 pounds of marijuana and a live 40-caliber round of ammunition in his car. They found this after Taylor himself called to complain about a window on his vehicle being broken during the course of a large scale brawl at a pecan farm near Austin (the AP says as many as 100 people might have been involved). Taylor himself had given the cops permission to search his vehicle, and lo, they uncovered the illegal consumables. He faces second-degree felony possession charges that carry up to 20 years in prison.

Boy, you've got that right, legend. I still can't get over the fact that the kid was involved in a 100-man melee at a pecan farm of all places!

Those newsbot links above have some great lines in them. The main one includes a quote from John Kelso of the Austin American-Statesman in which he calls this the "Throwdown at the Hoedown". The story over at Deadspin, while trying to piece together the story, says that "life’s a little different on the pecan farms. It’s not like your cushy suburban existance. The cats on the pecan farm are hard..."

What a hilarious story. This guy needs to be featured in one of those stupid criminal books!
