Texas vs. UCF

Somehow, someway, the Texas Longhorns are 2-0. They haven't always been the most impressive team in the world, but they are getting the job done, including a solid 34-13 win over then-#19 TCU last week. This week, UCF will provide the opposition in what should be a winnable game for the Longhorns. Still, the fact that Colt McCoy has more INTs than TDs on the season is unsettling. So can UT handle the Golden Knights?

Texas is one of those "funny" teams that usually plays at the level of their competition. I know, as a resident fan, I wish they wouldn't, but as long as they put up the "W", the alumni don't care and that's who pays the bills...

To answer the question: yes .. but will they?

Re: Texas vs. UCF

Watching UT, UCF game now in late third qtr and I'm just keep wondering

how do you field a team this lackluster, 2 years from a Nat. Championship?

I know they have 3 new starters in D backfield and on O line, but UCF is really making Horns look one-dimensional and well, bad.

OU is drooling, I fear another blowout then.

Welcome to GTG! Yeah, the Horns look bad right now. McCoy doesn't seem to have 'it' this year. Can they turn it around? I'm not so sure. They've got to do something quick - they're getting out of the easy part of the schedule.

Come now...let's not take the credit away from the UCF boys...they played good. Smith ran exceptionally well...the D came up big a time or two...it was a good game for UCF...sorry no one has heard of them

No disrespect intended to your Knights, Goth, but UT also struggled against Arkansas State to begin the season. It's like with the two Auburn losses - yeah, the teams that pulled off the upsets clearly deserve credit for playing so well. But at the same time, the losing program way underperformed, and it's clear that there's a problem with them as well.

Man...its just that the sun never shines of the Knights...here is a #6 (overrated?...perhaps) come into our new home and we give them all they could handle...I hate for it to be a Texas thing...GO KNIGHTS... ...maybe we will see a Bowl Game this year huh?

You may be on to something, I really doubt if any Texas fans believe the Horns are Top Ten. Not overrated, its the way the polls rank teams. They rank the team on how well they finished the year before.

Kind of stupid since college teams have turnover every year with Seniors leaving and Freshmen, and Sophomores taking their place, which brings us to
UT's problem. They have 3 new starters in the secondary and on the O line.

Kind of hard to rate SOMEONE YOU'VE NEVER SEEN PLAY!!!

But the ranking system applies to all the teams, so far the only team i've seen
come back year after year like nothings changed, ...USC. Don't know how they do it, but suspect their coaching is superb.

Oh well, get ready for 8-4 or 9-3 season.

But a W is a W...Hook 'em

Brad
