AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas Longhorns' sophomore Austin Wood was tabbed the Big 12 Baseball Pitcher of the Week the league announced on Monday.
Wood was 2-0 on the week with a 0.75 ERA in two starts.
The southpaw held No. 12 Oklahoma State's high-octane offense scoreless for six innings, scattering three hits and two walks, while striking out three. The performance propelled Texas to the first-ever three-game sweep of OSU by any team at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium since the venue opened in 1981. The Cowboys came into the series with the conference's highest batting average and highest run total. Wood's pitching contributed in the first shutout of Oklahoma State at Reynolds Stadium in nine years.
